The double-zippered main compartment is well-padded from top to bottom, providing excellent protection from minor impacts and scratches. The exterior not only offers a handsome appearance, but also repels water to keep your equipment safe from the elements. A zippered mesh pocket inside the lid provides storage for batteries, memory cards, filters and other small items, and an elastic mesh pouch on the front of the case gives you a place to stash your lens cap or other commonly-used accessory. This seems like a pretty sturdy carrying case, although I really just got it and tossed it aside, due to the fact that IT DOES NOT FIT A D5000. It is possible to cram the camera in and stretch out the zipper, like stuffing a suitcase for a 3 week trip. My advice to you - if you're buying this for a D5000, look elsewhere! You will be disappointed.

It is a really well and strong made case for our Nikon P100 camera.
It wasn't listed on the compatibility brand and models, but after comparing specific sized camera is similar shaped as the shown and it fit perfectly.
Has a lot of compartiment to carry a lot of little other things or accessories.
We really enjoy it using is all of the way.
